45 Lakh Mobile Number port in May 18, 38 crore total after portability scheme starts

July 20 (WTN) Country's mobile phone users are not satisfied with their service providers. This is clear from the May 2018 data of the mobile phone portability (MNP) released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). In the month of May alone, 45 lakh people in the country have applied to port their number.
Total mobile phone users in the country 115 million and Broadband users in the country are 43.2 million.
Mobile phone portability service was launched in the country in January 2011 and since then 386 million people have already ported mobile numbers. It is clear that nearly one-third of the country's 115 million mobile subscribers are not satisfied with the services offered by their company.
In the case of mobile port in the country, Karnataka is at the forefront, so far about 337 million people have ported their mobile numbers, whereas in Tamil Nadu, about 3.77 million people in Tamil Nadu dissatisfied with their service provider number ported them. After this, 3 million 15 lakh in Rajasthan and 2 million 62 lakh people in Maharashtra have ported mobile numbers.
According to TRAI report, in the month of May, 2018, 4.51 million subscribers submitted their requests for Mobile Number Portability (MNP). With this, the cumulative MNP requests increased from 377.55 million at the end of Apr-18 to 382.06 million at the end of May-18, since implementation of MNP.
