Eastern Army commander visits Spear Corps zone
Kolkata July 27 (IANS) Army s Eastern Command chief Lt Gen Abhay Krishna who is on a visit to the Spear Corps Zone to assess the security situation in the northeastern states was on Friday briefed at Dimapur on the progress of operations being undertaken by the Corp a defence spokesman said.
The army commander who commenced his visit from Dimapur during the day would be in the Spear Corps Zone till July 30 the Defence Ministry spokesman said.
Lt. Gen. Krishna who is accompanied by Spear Corps commander Lt Gen Gopal R. will be briefed by the operational commanders of Tripura Mizoram Manipur and Nagaland.
He will also interact with heads of other security agencies operating in the northeastern states.
