Delhi government to audit shelter homes
New Delhi Aug 7 (IANS) Delhi Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam on Tuesday ordered an audit of all shelter homes in the city after cases of sexual abuse were reported from such homes in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Gautam in an order to the Secretary Social Welfare gave directions for carrying out audits of all shelter homes -- government as well as private -- across the city.
"The incidents of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are sad and shocking. I want to ensure no such thing happens in Delhi " Gautam told IANS.
"It is the responsibility of the government to provide security safety and justice to the citizens " he added.
