Rijiju asks UP government to probe Arunachal youth s death
New Delhi Aug 7 (IANS) Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Monday asked the Uttar Pradesh government to investigate the death of a youth from Arunachal Pradesh who died due to injuries while travelling by train in the state an official statement said.
Expressing his concern over the incident Rijiju took up the matter with the offices of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and the Union Railway Minister with a request for investigation into the incident to ascertain the "facts and circumstances" leading to the death of Dule Ziri on August 3.
Rijiju sought action against the culprits if there was any mala fide intent said the statement.
The Minister said that the probe should also ascertain whether the incident is related to discrimination against the Northeast people.
The Minister also asked the Uttar Pradesh government and the Ministry of Railways to extend all necessary support to the family members of the deceased in this hour of crisis.
