CISF takes over security of 15th Finance Commission office
New Delhi Aug 8 (IANS) The CISF on Wednesday took over security of the 15th Finance Commission office located at Jawahar Vyapar Bhawan here the paramilitary force said.
An armed squad of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) commandos will guard the Commission s office on Tolstoy Marg round-the-clock.
"A small contingent with adequate manpower has been deployed for the security of the 15th Finance Commission Office " a CISF statement said.
With this induction total units under CISF security cover have gone up to 344 as on date a CISF official said.
The Fifteenth Finance Commission constituted on November 27 2017 is headed by Revenue Secretary and former Rajya Sabha MP N.K. Singh. Set up in 1951 under Article 280 of the Constitution the Commission basically decides how revenue has to be distributed between the Centre and the states. In addition it also decides the principles on which grants-in-aid will be given to the states.
It is slated to submit its recommendations by October 31 2019. The recommendations to be implemented for a period of five years will kick in on April 1 2020.
