Total 774 died due to monsoon rains and floods in 7 states, Kerala worsened

Aug 13 (WTN) According to the figures released by National Emergency Response Center (NERC) of the Home Ministry, 774 people have died due to flood and rain related incidents in seven states till now. There are 187 deaths in Kerala, 171 in Uttar Pradesh, 170 in West Bengal and 139 in Maharashtra. It has been said in the statistics that in Gujarat 52 people, 45 in Assam and eight in Nagaland have died. There are 22 people in Kerala and five people missing in West Bengal. In the states, 245 people have been injured in the rain related incidents.
The floods in Kerala have caused severe damage to crops & infrastructue. It has also caused loss of precious lives and forced thousands to take shelter in relief camp. Situation of Kerala is worst due to flood. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh conducted aerial survey of Idukki and Ernakulam districts two most flood affected districts of Kerala. Rajnath Singh has admitted that the situation in Kerala is very dangerous. He has also announced help of Rs 100 crore immediately from the center.
Most affected districts of different states due to rainfall and floods in Maharashtra are 26, Assam 23, West Bengal 22, Kerala 14, Uttar Pradesh 12, Nagaland 11 and 10 districts of Gujarat have been most affected. 15 of the NDRF in Assam, eight in eight Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, seven in Gujarat, four in Kerala, four in Maharashtra and one team in Nagaland have been deployed.
