LS Speaker s secretariat to donate a day s salary for Kerala

New Delhi Aug 21 (IANS) After Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan now the employees of her secretariat have pledged to donate their one day s salary to the Prime Minister s Relief Fund to assist rehabilitation work in flood-hit Kerala.
Mahajan -- as also Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu -- had on Monday announced that she will donate her one month s salary towards the relief work in Kerala through the PM s Relief Fund.
They had also appealed to all MPs to try donating their one month s salary.
Kerala has been hit hard by the worst floods in a century leaving hundreds dead and lakhs displaced.
