Asiad 2018: P.V.Sindhu first Indian to reach the finals, Saina first to secure medal in badminton
PV Sindhu defeated Akane Yamaguchi of Japan 21-17, 15-21, 21-10 in the semifinals of Badminton in the 18th Asian Games on Monday. He is the first Indian to make a place in the title match in Badminton's 56-year history in Asiad.

Earlier, Saina Nehwal lost to Chinese Taipei's Tai Xu Jung 21-17, 21-14 in the semi-finals. However, she became the first Indian to win a medal in badminton women's singles. She secured Bronze medal after losingsemi-finals in badminton.

Saina won the medal for the first time in a single event in the Asiad. He is the first Indian woman to win a medal in the singles event in Badminton 56 year history of Asian Games. Saina won a bronze medal in women's team event in the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. Saina and Tai Xu Jung have 17 wins so far. In it Saina 5 and Jung 12 were successful in winning. Saina has not won any match against Jung since November 2014.
