J&K, Bandipora encounter: 2 terrorist killed, search operation continue

Two terrorist were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Hajin area of ​​Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. During this operation security forces used tear gas shells and lathi charge to disperse local people who were protesting against the search operation. According to official sources, the officers of 13 Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel of 45th battalion came in action after intelligence related that terrorists being hidden in the Pare Mohallah of the Hajin area in the district today, at 5 a.m., Joint Combing Campaign started.


Sources said that when the security forces were encircling the area, the terrorists there started firing on them. The security forces responded in which a terrorist was killed. According to the intelligence report two or three terrorists in the area are suspected to be hidden. To further strengthen the operation extra security forces have been dispatched on the spot. Earlier, the Director General of Police, SP Vaidya tweeted that the encounter in Hajin started.
 
Meanwhile local people, mostly young people, started protest near the encounter site and start opposing search operation of the security forces. Incident of stones pelting on the security forces also reported at effected area after this security forces used tear gas and Lathi charge to control the mob.
