Two stabbed to death in Delhi (Lead)

New Delhi Aug 30 (IANS) Two persons were stabbed to death and four injured three of them critically by a group of armed assailants in west Delhi police said on Thursday.
Police said four to five persons with covered faces and armed with knives attacked bystanders or passersby in Mangolpuri around 10.30 p.m. on Wednesday.
"The deceased are Karanvir 42 and Dinesh 38. The critically injured are Irshad 30 Vinay 35 and Delhi Jal Board employee Suresh 50. They are undergoing treatment for multiple stab wounds " Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajender Singh Sagar told IANS.
The attackers first abused Karanvir while he was standing outside his residence. When he resisted the attackers stabbed him. His neighbour Dinesh tried to rescue him but was also fatally stabbed the officer said.
"We have identified a few accused and detained some youths including area criminals to identify the rest " he said.
"Prima facie the accused had come to the area to attack rival gang members. But when the group did not find them they attacked bystanders or passersby in a show of area dominance to rival gangs " the ADCP said.
The officer said that the accused were accomplices of one Prince who died on Wednesday after an attack by the rival group of Abhishek. The group that carried out the knife attacks were out to take revenge for the death.
