High alert on way towards Vaishno Devi after Terror threat

After the firing on the security forces by suspected militants on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, high alert was issued on the way towards Vaishno Devi. Police officials gave this information. He said that security has been increased within and around strategic and important establishments. Officials said that after the incident, this high alert was issued for areas adjacent to Jammu region and Jammu-Srinagar national highway. He said that security has been increased on all the routes leading to Katra and the base camp of Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.
According to sources all the check posts which are on the highway have been kept on alert and the vehicles are being checked. Jammu Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vivek Gupta said that suspected militants started firing on them when the truck passing through a checkpoint on the highway was stopped by security forces. They told that before they escaped from there, they fired security personnel from their vehicle. SSP told that the driver and conductor of the truck was taken into custody.
Gupta said that during the exploration, one AK Assault rifle and three magazines were seized from the truck. Jammu-Kashmir Police said on Twitter, two-three suspected terrorists who are absconding from the truck are being chased. Police, Army and CRPF have been activated. A siege and search operation has been started ahead of Sukater near Katra crossing on the national highway.
