Maoist killed in Jharkhand

Ranchi Sep 14 (IANS) A Maoist guerrilla carrying a bounty of Rs 1 lakh was killed on Friday in gunfight with the security forces in Jharkhand s Gumla district police said.
According to a police statement the security forces raided Bodkera village after receiving a tip-off that the victim Krishna Gope an area commander was holding a meeting with at least four other guerrillas.
While the others managed to escape Gope was surrounded by the security forces. He retaliated with firing triggering the gunfight the statement added.
