Chaos in Goa politics, Congress claims to form government

While Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar having treatment in AIIMS,Congress in state, claim formation of stable government, it started political debacle in Goa. According to the sources, Congress has claimed to form a government as 14 Congress MLAs reached the Raj Bhavan on Monday to meet Governor Mridula Sinha. But Governor was out of state so they drop the letter in Governor’s office representing the Congress to form a delegation of government has left it there.
There are 40 assembly seats in the Goa assembly. After 2017 elections current BJP government has 24 seats with the support of independents and other parties, which is 3 seats more than the 21 seats needed to form the government. While Congress is the biggest party with 16 seats, BJP has 14 seats. In Goa, the Bharatiya Janata Party has formed government in collaboration with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, Goa Forward Party and Independents.
Currently there is speculation regarding the appointment of new Chief Minister as present CM Manohar Parrikar is under treatment in AIIMS due to illness. However, the BJP denied it.
