Facebook could be in trouble, IT Ministry seeks report on account hacking incidents

The Ministry of Information and Technology (IT) has demanded detailed information from the social media platform Facebook regarding the effect of the recent incident of hacking on user accounts according to sources.
Senior officials of the ministry said that Facebook was asked to tell the number of Indian FB user affected by hacking. They said, "Facebook officials said that they are now estimating it and will answer in two days." However, Facebook refused to answer when asked about it.
Facebook had said last week that hackers have made illegal access in his system. This hacking had affected 5 million accounts. However, the company did not open the report regarding the user count country wise accordingly.
For this loss to the users, a penalty of $ 1.63 billion (about Rs 11,900 crore) can be imposed on Facebook by the European Union. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Ireland Data Protection, which sees Facebook privacy regulators in Europe, has sought details in detail about the 5 million Facebook user ID hacks through access tokens and digital keys.
