DIAL to shut one runway for repair works; flight disruptions expected from Nov 15

New Delhi Oct 3 (IANS) Flight disruptions are expected at IGI Airport from November 15 as one of the three runways will be closed for "preventive repairs" for 13 days.
According to the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) the maintenance shutdown will lower the capacity of IGI Airport by 50 arrivals and 50 departures per day.
"DIAL is planning the closure of runway 27/09 to carry out preventive repairs. The works are scheduled to be undertaken for 13-day duration starting from November 15. This will lower the capacity of IGI Airport by 50 arrivals and 50 departures per day in this duration " a DIAL spokesperson said.
At present the airport has three runways to handle a daily traffic of around 1 300 flight movements.
