Ramadoss seeks probe into Jallikattu violence

Tuesday - January 24, 2017 6:08 pm , Category : INDIA

PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Tuesday sought a probe by the CBI and by a Madras High Court judge into the violence in Chennai and Madurai on Monday.

Ramadoss said in a statement that there was sufficient proof to prove that police and anti-social elements indulged in the violence and not protesters favouring Jallikattu, the bull taming sport.

Regretting that a protest to redeem Tamil Nadu's tradition and culture ended in violence, he said many organisations were not able to digest the neutral protest and worked to deflect its focus.

He said a couple of persons arrested for violence belonged to a political party.
