HC to hear AJL's plea on Tuesday

Monday - November 12, 2018 8:16 pm , Category : INDIA
New Delhi, Nov 12 (IANS) The Delhi High Court will on Tuesday hear the plea of Associated Journals Limited (AJL), which publishes the National Herald newspaper, challenging the Centre's order asking AJL to vacate the premises at ITO in Delhi.
The AJL on Monday approached the Delhi High Court challenging the Urban Development Ministry's order ending the lease of the Herald House.
The plea is scheduled to be heard by Justice Sunil Gaur.
The AJL has alleged that government's order was illegal, unconstitutional and arbitrary.
The government reportedly inspected the premises a few months ago and found that the premises allotted to AJL were not being used for the publication of newspaper for the past 10 years. The government has said that it is a violation of the allotment rules.
