Father-in-law of IAS officer shot dead

Chandigarh, Nov 18 (IANS) The police have launched an investigation after the father-in-law of a senior IAS officer was shot dead by unidentified persons near Punjab's Rajpura town, around 45 km from here, police said on Sunday.

The body of Swaran Singh, father-in-law of IAS officer Varun Roojam, was found in his car near the highway on Sunday. Police said the victim, 64, was shot thrice from close range.
