Will provide free coaching to defence personnel's wards: Haryana CM

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday announced to provide free coaching facilities for the wards of defence personnel and paramilitary forces to prepare for all competitive exams.

Making the announcement on the occasion of the 68th Republic Day celebrations at Panchkula, near here, Khattar said the facility will also be extended to wards of ex-servicemen.

The Chief Minister said that the government has prepared a scheme with budget provision of Rs 3 crore for providing free coaching facility for competitive exams like civil services, engineering, medical, defence, banks and even those conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC).

He added that the Haryana government has setup a separate Department of Sainik Welfare to provide various services to ex-servicemen.

Haryana has a large number of personnel in the defence and para-military forces.-Agency
