23.24 Crore joined DBT of LPG subsidies, 6 Cr BPL benefited by Ujjwala

WTN - Union government toady told in Rajya Sabha that  out of 25.17 crore LPG consumers, 23.24 crore consumers have joined the PAHAL Scheme till dec 2018 and are getting subsidy in their registered bank accounts. While Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has made the kitchens of 6 Crore BPL families smoke-free by providing them clean fuel LPG.
 
Some complaints have been received regarding non-transfer of subsidy which was mainly due to deseeding of Aadhaar from National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) mapper. The matter was taken up with NPCI. Further, the customer has also been given the option of receiving subsidy through Bank Account Transfer Compliant Mode.
 
Average Subsidy given per cylinder in the year 2016-17 was Rs. 108.78, in 2017-18 Rs. 173.41 and in 2018-19 (up to first half) was Rs. 219.12 respectively.
