Alok Verma gets big relief from SC, will remain CBI director

WTN- The Supreme Court canceled the order of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) on Tuesday to send CBI director Alok Verma on leave on Tuesday. He also ordered his restoration. However, the apex court said that Verma would not be able to take any major policy decision. They are retiring on January 31. Verma and No. 2 officer Special Director Rakesh Asthana had charged corruption on one another. After this the government had sent both the officers on leave.

Earlier this dispute arised when CBI director Alok Verma had filed a petition against forcibly sends him on leave and neautrilize his powers after official disputes with former joint director Rakesh Asthana. After the corruption charges against both Asthana and Verma came in publc, the Modi government sent both the officials on leave.
 
 After this war broke out between Varma and Special Director Rakesh Asthana, the government had on October 23 last year sent both the officers out of their rights and sent them on leave. Both the officials had accused each other of corruption. Simultaneously, the Center handed over the temporary charge of Director of Investigation Agency to M Nageshwar Rao, joint director of the Bureau.
