SC dismisses plea for rescheduling TN poll day

New Delhi, April 4 (IANS) The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a plea by a Christian body seeking postponement and rescheduling of the April 18 polling in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry since it coincides with the holy days of Good Friday and Easter.A bench of Justice S.A. Bobde, Justice S. Abdul Nazeer and Justice Indira Banerjee dismissed the plea after the petitioner contended that three days including April 18 - the polling day - were the holy days for Christian community.
