Lok Sabha pays homage to ex-Speaker, others
New Delhi March 9 (IANS) The Lok Sabha on Thursday condoled the passing away of former Speaker Rabi Ray.
Soon after the house met after a month-long recess Speaker Sumitra Mahajan made the obituary references to the death of Ray along with other members Jambuwant Dhote P. Shiv Shankar and Syed Shahabuddin.
A two-minute silence was observed before the Question Hour.
Ray 91 died at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on March 6. He was admitted there following age-related ailments.
Shiv Shankar 89 a former union minister died in February after a prolonged illness.
Shahabuddin a former Indian Foreign Service officer passed away on March 4. Dhote died in February.
