Samsung to help Karnataka government manage health facilities

Bengaluru March 10 (IANS) Samsung India on Friday said it signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Karnataka government to help the state efficiently manage its public healthcare facilities.

As part of the agreement Samsung handed over 1 000 Galaxy Tab IRIS to the Department of Health and Family Welfare Karnataka government.

Digitising the database is very important for our public health centres as it will lead to better planning and decision making at a state as well as central level said Ramesh Kumar state Minister of Health and Family Welfare in a statement.

Samsung Tab IRIS is the first commercial tablet to be approved by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) for Aadhaar and Know Your Customer (KYC) verification and will enable Public Health Centres (PHC) in the state to build their database in a digital format the statement said.

Samsung has been in India for 21 years and has always contributed towards making lives of its customers easy with the help of its innovative meaningful technologies added Aloknath De Chief Technology Officer Samsung R&D Institute Bengaluru in a statement.
