State level committees to monitor Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme for the welfare of minorities

New Delhi: The guidelines for implementation of (PM’s New 15-PP) stipulate that the States / UTs are to constitute a State Level Committee (SLC) for implementation and monitoring of the Programme, to be headed by the ChiefSecretary. The members of the committee include  Secretaries and Heads of Departments implementing theschemes under PM’s New 15-PP, representatives from the Panchayati  Raj  Institutions /  Autonomous  District  Councils,  three  representatives  from reputed non-governmental institutions dealing with minorities and threesuch other members considered  appropriate  by  the  State  Government /  UT  Administration  along  with  two Members  of  Legislative  Assembly (nominated by the  respective  State/  UT)  and  three Members ofParliament (two from Lok Sabha and one from Rajya Sabha representing that State / UT, nominated by theCentral Government). All States/ UTs, except Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana, have constituted the SLCs.
