Amit Shah to visit Tripura next month

Agartala April 4 (IANS) To boost the morale of its cadres ahead of next year s assembly elections BJP President Amit Shah will visit Tripura on May 6 a party leader said here on Tuesday.

To give a boost and to finalise the political strategy ahead of the 2018 assembly elections in Tripura Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah would be arriving here on May 6 the BJP s Tripura Pradesh Prabhari (observer) Sunil Deodhar told the media.

He said that during his two-day visit the BJP chief may address some party meetings and speak to the party s state leaders and members in a brainstorming session.

Tripura is the main target for the BJP to capture power although Meghalaya where the Congress is in power is also on the party s mind.

We are of the view that the party could win Tripura riding on the organisational strength. That s why Amitji s visit holds significance for the state party unit he said.

The elections for the 60-seat Tripura Assembly are likely to be held in February next year.
