Madhusudan Mistry made member of Congress election authority

New Delhi April 29 (IANS) Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday appointed Madhusudan Mistry as member of the party s central election authority (CEA) which is headed by Mullapally Ramachandran.

Apart from Ramachandran and Mistry the CEA will also include Bhubaneshwar Kalita as a member.

The advisory committee to the CEA will have party MP Shamsher Singh Dullo and former MPs Ashk Ali Tak and Biren Singh Engti as members.

A party release said that since Mistry has become a member of the CEA he will not hold any organisational post as per the party constitution.

CEA has the responsibility to conduct party elections. The Congress has drawn up a schedule of its delayed organisational polls with election of party chief expected to be completed by October 15.
