Nitesh Rane charge-sheeted in Goa assault case
Panaji May 5 (IANS) The Goa Police on Friday charge-sheeted former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane s son and MLA Nitesh Rane in connection with a 2008 assault and criminal intimidation case.
Rane a Congress MLA from Kankavali Assembly constituency in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra along with several others was booked for assaulting a toll booth operator at North Goa s Pernem sub-district.
The incident occurred on December 3 when Rane along with his entourage was entering Goa from Sindhudurg and was stopped at Dhargal toll booth near Pernem to pay entry toll.
The charge-sheet has been filed before the Judicial Magistrate First Class in Pernem a police spokesperson said.
