In crackdown in Ghaziabad, five held; weapons, mobiles seized
Ghaziabad May 23 (IANS) The Ghaziabad police on Tuesday said five persons have been arrested for their involvement in robberies and burglaries and 21 mobile phones a pistol three knives and three motorcycles have been seized from them.
Superintendent of Police (City) Akash Tomar told the media here that Sihani Gate police detained Moin Khan Nadeem and Kasim during patrolling on Tuesday. During questioning the three confessed to robbing passers-by.
The three are residents of New Hindon Vihar locality under the jurisdiction of Sahibabad police station.
They were found involved in five cases of robbery and burglary the Superintendent of Police said. Police seized 21 mobile phones two knives and two motorcycles from their possession.
Indirapuram police detained two more persons during patrolling near Shipra Sun City identified as Karan of Makanpur village in Indirapuram and Mamura of a village in Noida.
Both confessed to snatching of gold chains and other precious items from passers-by. Police said they were involved in 10 cases of crimes in Indirapuram.
Police seized Rs 15 500 a motorcycle a pistol two cartridges and a knife from them.
