Disturbing trend , Mamata says of CBI raid on Prannoy Roy

Kolkata June 5 (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday condemned the raid on national news channel NDTV founder Prannoy Roy s residence terming it a disturbing trend.

The CBI on Monday raided Roy s residence in Delhi over an alleged bank loan default case which the national news channel said was part of the probe agency s concerted harassment to muzzle free speech.

The CBI registered the case against Roy his wife Radhika a private company and others. The probe agency conducted searches at Roy s Greater Kailash-I residence in south Delhi for causing alleged loss to a bank.
