Man held for severing minor daugher s ears

New Delhi June 22 (IANS) A man has been arrested on charge of cutting off both ears of his three-year-old daughter on Thursday police said.
Accused Amrit 35 of Shahadara told police he committed the crime as a spirit told him to do so if he wanted to save his daughter Bina s life.
While his family tried to stop him from committing the crime in an inebriated state he beat them up. The family s neighbours informed police.
The girl is stable at All India Institute of Medical Sciences where she is will undergo surgery Deputy Commissioner of Police Nupur Sharma said.
