Cabinet nod for change in naval cadre structure

New Delhi June 22 (IANS) The Union Cabinet on Thursday gave nod to the constitution of an engineering service -- Indian Naval Material Management Service (INMMS) -- in the Indian Navy.

The Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved constitution of the organised Group A engineering service INMMS and consequent changes in cadre structure of the existing Group A cadre of Naval Store Officers said an official statement.

It said that this change would attract the best talents available and would provide a reservoir of technically qualified material managers for handling the materials management functions of the navy.

It will improve the functional efficiency of material management of naval stores and ensure operational readiness of the navy as well as provide better career prospects for the incumbents the statement aded.
