Jharkhand man kills three family members, arrested

Ranchi July 6 (IANS) A man in Jharkhand s East Singhbhum district on Thursday has been arrested for killing his brother sister-in-law and a niece and injuring his nephew the police said.

According to the police Sudarsan Mahakud killed his 45-year-old brother Gurucharan Mahakud sister-in-law Bimla and niece Alochana seriously injuring his nephew Rajesh.

According to one version the reason behind the murder was a property dispute as both brothers were living in neighbouring houses. However according to police sources another angle could be that Sudarsan attempted to rape his niece.

A drunk Sudarsan entered his brother s house and attempted to rape his 13-year-old niece. When she resisted he killed her. As his brother Gurucharan attacked him Sudarsan axed him too to death.
