NDFB terrorist killed in Assam

Guwahati July 25 (IANS) A terrorist linked with the anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) was killed and a police official injured in a gunfight in Assam s Kokrajhar district on Tuesday morning police said.

Around 11.30 p.m. on Monday police launched an operation after getting a tip about the presence of NDFB militants in Karigaon area Inspector General of Police Anurag Agarwala said.

The terrorists opened fire when the police laid a cordon and asked them to surrender. Sub Inspector Ramcharan Rabha was injured in the gunfight Agarwala said.

"Others managed to escape under the cover of darkness " he said.

The police recovered an assault rifle a magazine 15 rounds of ammunition a grenade and a mobile phone from the dead man.
