Haryana banquet halls bookings to entail affidavits on firing, crackers

Chandigarh July 28 (IANS) In a bid to tackle celebratory firing in the air and bursting of crackers during social functions at banquet halls in Haryana the state government on Friday said affidavits will henceforth be sought in advance from people booking such premises.

"Banquet halls owners will seek affidavits before making bookings. In case any firing or bursting of crackers takes place at their premises owners will also be held responsible " Transport and Housing Minister Krishan Lal Panwar said in Sonepat around 200 km from here.

He was presiding over a meeting of District Public Relations and Grievances Redressal Committee.

Panwar s statement comes in the wake of a complaint in connection with the death of youth Tushar Batra in a firing incident.
