Soldier injured in Pakistan firing dies

Srinagar Aug 16 (IANS) A soldier who sustained injuries when the Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire on the Line of Control on August 4 succumbed to his injuries here on Wednesday officials said.



The soldier identified as Havaldar Narendra Singh was undergoing treatment at the Army s 92 base hospital in Srinagar.

"After battling for life for 12 days the soldier succumbed to critical injuries " a defence spokesperson said here.

The 43-year-old Singh had joined the Army in 1994. He belonged to Haripur village in Dehradun.
