Police officer shot at in J&K

Srinagar Aug 28 (IANS) Militants on Monday shot at and critically injured a junior level police officer in Jammu and Kashmir s Anantnag town.
Abdul Rashid an assistant sub-inspector of police (ASI) was shot at from close range a police official said.
"The ASI was immediately shifted to the district hospital in Anantnag. Doctors there referred him to Srinagar " police said.
The area where the shooting took place was cordoned off for searches.
