Three killed in UP road accident

Lucknow Sep 2 (IANS) Three persons were killed and three injured when a speeding truck smashed into a tempo in Shahjahanpur on Saturday police said.
The accident took place on Kant road when passengers were returning from the Deva Sharif shrine in Barabanki after celebrating Eid-al-Adha.
The deceased -- identified as Nanha (52) Naazreen (53) and Sanaya (8) -- belonged to Rawatpur village. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the families informed police said.
Three passengers who were critically injured were rushed to a nearby medical facility but they have been referred to hospitals in Bareilly due to their critical condition.
Police said the truck driver has been arrested.
