Three killed, dozen injured in UP shootout over land

Lucknow Oct 14 (IANS) Three persons were killed and a dozen injured in a shootout between two groups over a land dispute in Deoria in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday following which angry locals blocked a highway police said.
The deceased were Satya Prakash 19 Ram Pradesh 25 and Inderjeet 22.
The injured were admitted to a district hospital where the condition of Baijnath 40 and Vijay 50 is said to be critical.
Violence broke out at Sarora village due to a dispute over the construction of a petrol pump on a piece of land both sides claimed belonged to them.
Tension prevailed in the area following which heavy police deployment was made.
