Varun vows to make his constituency manual scavenger free

Sultanpur Oct 16 (IANS) BJP MP Varun Gandhi on Monday vowed to make Sultanpur "free of manual scavengers" in the next six months by providing them skill based training.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP celebrated Diwali with manual scavengers during a visit to his Lok Sabha constituency. He said he shall end this menace in his constituency.

Gandhi said around 800-900 such people weere in his constituency. And he would arrange skill based training for them in the coming months.

The BJP MP has selected 100 people from his constituency to learn skills including pickle making and sewing.

He said the next month he would provide training to another 400 people.

Gandhi also paid 100 people a salary of three months so that they can complete their training without any tension of running out of money.
