Soldier accused of braid chopping, tension in J&K town

Srinagar Oct 17 (IANS) Tension gripped Jammu and Kashmir s Kupwara town on Tuesday after the army rescued a soldier whom people accused of being involved in a braid chopping incident.
A large crowd built up in the area after he was rescued from a mob the members of which were ruthlessly thrashing him.
The rescued soldier was said to be critically injured. He was being shifted to a Srinagar hospital.
