Four killed as car falls into Punjab canal

Chandigarh Nov 3 (IANS) Morning fog and smog from stubble burning took its toll in Punjab on Friday when four people died after their car fell into a minor irrigation canal near Abohar town around 310 km from here police said.
The victims included a middle-aged man and his two sons who had come from Hisar in neighbouring Haryana to attend a wedding in Rorianwali village near Abohar.
The fourth victim had taken a lift in the car at the last moment police said.
Police investigations revealed that the car driver who was injured in the accident failed to see the minor canal near the Abohar bypass and the car fell into it.
