Wozniacki beats Halep in Australian Open final
Melbourne Jan 27 (IANS) Denmark s Caroline Wozniacki claimed her first Grand Slam tennis title after defeating Romanian Simona Halep in the women s singles final of the Australian Open here on Saturday.
Second seed Wozniacki the former World No.1 prevailed 7-6 (2) 3-6 6-4 over top seed Halep who was bidding to win her first major title.
"I ve dreamed of this moment for so many years. Today is a dream come true. I m shaking right now. I m going to cry " Wozniacki said after the win according to the tournament s Twitter handle.
