FIFA concerned about money spent on player agents
London Feb 2 (IANS) World football governing body FIFA President Gianni Infantino wants to put a check on the amount of money being paid to agents.
"I am very concerned about the huge amount of money that is flowing out of the football industry " he was quoted as saying by the BBC on Thursday.
"These increasingly larger transactions are often not done in a clean open manner and raise a lot of questions about potential misuse of funds " he added.
Speaking days after the January transfer deadline day Infantino s concern was met by figures which showed that English teams had paid a highest-ever total of 174 million pound to agents last season. Infantino said: "We have to tackle this issue -- the curtains must be open."
The winter window meanwhile saw English Premier League sides spend £430m another record.
