Swimmer Sajan fails to enter final in 100m butterfly (Lead)

Gold Coast (Australia) April 8 (IANS) Indian Sajan Prakash finished 10th in the semi-finals of the men s 100 metre butterfly swimming competition of the 21st Commonwealth Games here on Sunday.
Competing in semi-final 2 Sajan finished with a timing of 54.12 seconds to be fifth. But his effort ranked 10th in the overall standings. The top eight performers in the semi-finals enter the final.
Australian Grant Irvine topped the semi-finals with a timing of 51.87 seconds. England s James Guy was second (52.34).
Earlier during the heats Sajan finished second in Heat 2 of the competition after clocking 54.11 seconds only behind Irvine who finished with a timing of 53.89 at the Optus Aquatic Centre here.
