Forward Borja Iglesias promises to do his best at Espanyol
Barcelona July 11 (IANS) Spanish forward Borja Iglesias who was presented on Wednesday as a new player for Espanyol said he joined the Spanish club to do his best rather than to be a second Gerard Moreno the departed star forward.
Moreno who moved to Villarreal was Espanyol s top scorer in the past season while Iglesias who scored 23 goals in 43 official matches in the 2017/2018 season joined the team after four years at Celta Vigo reports Efe.
Espanyol sporting director general Oscar Perarnau said: "We all agreed that he has potential and room for improvement."
The 25-year-old forward who moved to Espanyol for 10 million euros ($11.7 million) to be paid in instalments has become the most expensive deal in the history of the Spanish club.
