Fiorentina sign Roma s Gerson on loan for 1 season
Rome July 20 (IANS) ACF Fiorentina on Friday announced it had signed young Brazilian midfielder Gerson Da Silva on loan for one football season from AS Roma.
The 21-year-old Gerson started his professional career at Fluminense in 2014 and joined Roma for 16 million euro ($18.74 million) two years later reports Efe.
His first season at Roma was complicated as he fell out of favour with coach Luciano Spalletti and made only 11 appearances with the Serie A club in all competitions.
During the 2017-2018 campaign however under new Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco Gerson played 31 matches scoring two goals.
The only two goals he scored last season were against Fiorentina in Roma s 4-2 win.
Gerson became Fiorentina s fourth signing this summer following French goalkeeper Alban Lafont Italian defender Federico Ceccherini and Danish midfielder Christian Norgaard.
