Leicester s costliest buy, Slimani, joins Fenerbahe on loan
London Aug 13 (IANS) Leicester City s record signing Algerian forward Islam Slimani has joined Turkish football outfit Fenerbahçe on a season-long loan.
The 30-year-old had joined the Foxes in the summer of 2016 on a transfer from Sporting Lisbon for 30 million pounds ($38 million) becoming the most expensive player in Leicester s history reports Efe.
At Leicester Slimani s game time has decreased since he has fallen behind other attackers Jamie Vardy Kelechi Iheanacho Shinji Okazaki and Fousseni Diabaté.
"Leicester City striker Islam Slimani has joined Turkish top-flight side Fenerbahçe on loan for the 2018/19 season " Leicester said in a statement.
Slimani will compete for a place in his new team s starting lineup with Spain s Roberto Soldado 33 and Turkey s Ahmethan Kose 22.
