Belo Horizonte (Brazil) Sep 11 (IANS) Former Brazil internationals Ricardo Oliveira and Elias struck second-half goals as Atletico Mineiro came from behind to beat Atletico Paranaense 3-1 in the Brazilian Serie A football championship.
Atletico Parananese took the lead via an Iago Maidana own goal in the 10th minute at Atletico Mineiro s Independencia Stadium here on Monday reports Xinhua news agency.
Leonardo Silva equalized with a bullet header just before the half-hour mark and Elias then put the hosts ahead by deftly controlling a Luan pass and firing into the top corner.
Thirty-eight year-old striker Oliveira extended Atletico Mineiro s lead by blasting in from close after his first attempt was blocked by goalkeeper Aderbar Santos.
The result lifted Atletico Mineiro to fifth in the 20-team standings eight points behind leaders Internacional. Atletico Paranaense dropped to 14th just three points clear of the relegation zone.
