Argentina midfielder Palacios suffers broken leg

Buenos Aires, Feb 13 (IANS) Argentina international midfielder Exequiel Palacios faces more than a month on the sidelines after suffering a broken leg while playing for River Plate, the Buenos Aires club said.Palacios sustained the injury in River's 2-0 victory over Racing Club in the Superliga Argentina on Sunday. Despite being in discomfort, the 20-year-old completed the full 90 minutes for the reigning Copa Libertadores champions, reports Xinhua news agency.In a brief statement issued on Tuesday, River revealed that scans showed the playmaker had a fractured right fibula.Local media said he would need at least 45 days to recover, a scenario that would rule him out of six league matches and three Copa Libertadores group fixtures.Palacios, who made his debut for Argentina's national team last year, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in July.
